This week in K1
We have included Cosmic Kids Yoga as part of our routine. Children seem to be enjoying this every morning now. It is to help them control their emotions and most of all it is an integral part of their well being.

This Wednesday we had an hour community time in our classroom. Discussing our Learner Profile attributes. We talk about being principled, a communicator and being caring.
It is a challenge for the children to display these attributes in their day to day life. Please encourage this language at home to keep it consistent. We are learning to share and listen, learning to do the right thing and most importantly being polite to others and using language like saying 'sorry, please and thank you'

We worked in different stations
- Decorated our names with glitters- Glitters are always fun and great for developing fine motor skills.
- We dipped our hands in paints to find the letters in our name. Children were risk-takers and decided to paint Ms. Phibz - It was a lot of fun!
- We explored candle wax painting to find magic names.
In UOI and Literacy
We have started reading 'Elves and the Shoemaker'
- We are learning 'Five little Elves' within the tune of 'Five little ducks' for our Christmas event.
- We read the story several times and decided to make shoes using recycled materials and this is what we came up with...
We also decorated bedroom slippers to make our wish come true.

Early years will be singing a song about the book
'The Elves and the Shoemaker'
We would like all children to dress as Elves for the performance and so children can wear red or green clothes. We will make hats and elf ears for the children in class as part of our Christmas activities. Please do not buy anything special for the costume but try to use clothes you already have as we try to support sustainability and reuse and recycle in our effort to raise awareness of environmental issues.
