Our Field trip to Harbour Land and Global Play Day at school

K1 had lots of fun at Global Play Day. We were reflectosaurus about our day and everyone seem to like playing at different stations. Here are a few pictures of the day.

UOI- Making Conclusion

As part of our Unit of Inquiry, we went on our first field trip to Harbour Land. Here are a few pictures to enjoy the learning that took place.

Literacy

We have been reading Little Red Riding hood and will continue it next week with some role play. Students have shown a lot of interest in acting it out as part of an inquiry process, they decide the next steps to their own learning.

Bee-Bot

We introduced Bee-Bot in our classroom, they are a wonderful resource to teach students the fundamentals of computational thinking. The small robot can remember up to 40 commands consisting of forward and backward, left and right movement to maneuver around the floor. These commends develop students understanding of sequencing, computational thinking, literacy, and the mathematical concepts of coordinate, distance, and location.

In K1, I have developed some Bee-Bot mats for the children to explore and they just love this station in the classroom.
