A very happy Chinese New Year to all the parents and the students. We had a great assembly on Thursday. Students thoroughly enjoyed the festive performances by our key stage 1 and 2 students.
A few pictures to enjoy!

We have been reading Jack and the Beanstalk for the last two weeks. Students decided to grow Magic Beans to see what would grow?
Ms. Phibz wondered what would grow out of these magic beans we planted a few days ago?
Students wondered and illustrated their thinking that Magic beans would grow higher and taller and very high.
By Thursday they had grown with beautiful yellow flowers. What fun it was to watch the children’s surprised look.
Here is the video of the students and their expressions after seeing the flowers grown.
Phonics
Learning to blend simple CVC words orally in K1
In Math.
We are still exploring our measuring tools in the classroom using the language heavy and light, long and short'
Students were also introduced to several cats and dogs Number stories. Number stories are also called story problems -- perhaps in part because they illustrate how math is used to solve problems in real-world situations.
Students then came up with their own number stories and with excitement, we will be ready with K1 number story booklet next week.

K1 has been creating different things of their own interest. . Students are also enjoying the Show and Tell. They are very excited to bring one thing from each week to show and talk about it. It has been great seeing the students are beginning to build confidence and communication skills.
We also watched a video on a boy named Caine who was very inspired by creating a game arcade out of the boxes

Play Day
Why?
In his TEDx lecture, Peter Gray, clearly argues the case that today's kids do not grow up playing and this has negatively impacted them in many ways. It's time we return the gift of play to this generation.
